so how do you wear dress shoes with

jeans that's what I'm going to be

talking about in today's video as I

share with you some important rules to

follow alongside sharing some outfits as

inspiration so wearing dress shoes with

jeans is a very common look it's

extremely popular because it bridges

that gap between formal and casual so if

you were going to let's say a bar for

example and the dress code wasn't

extremely formal you would want to still

look stylish but you'd still want to

dress the outfit down now some videos

before sharing the importance of a good

pair of shoes as a man you cannot ignore

the importance of what a good pair of

shoes brings to your outfit you could

wear a well fitted t-shirt a well fitted

pair of jeans replace some sneakers with

a good pair of dress shoes and it would

dress the outfit up completely but the

issue is a lot of men get it wrong they

choose the wrong pair of shoes that use

huge impact on their overall appearance

so how do you pull it off so you need to

focus on two things this is going to

sound very simple but you need to focus

on the dress shoes that you're wearing

and the pair of jeans that you're

wearing of course that sounds very

simple and that's why you're watching

this video so I'm going to dive a little

bit deeper pay attention to the shoes

that you're wearing with your jeans if

you're wearing cheap looking leather

shoes it's going to have a huge impact

on your overall outfit I always say

invest in shoes don't go and buy a pair

of leather dress shoes for 30 pounds a

high street store you want to invest a

little bit of more money in a pair of

dress shoes because not only are they

going to last you longer but they also

look a lot better if the shoe is well

made it's going to last you years if not

decades so although you may be spending

a little bit more money up front a good

pair of shoes can last you a long time

so you're going to get your money's

worth in the long run at the same time

if the shoe has what's called a Goodyear

welted sole you can simply resole the

shoe over and over again so although

like I said you're investing a little

bit more money up front on a good pair

of shoes it's going to last you for

years to come I'll talk about the styles

shoe you should be going for if you do

want to wear it with a pair of jeans but

the color that you choose is very

important as well you want to make sure

that you choose

color that's very very versatile and you

choose a shoe that's very very versatile

keep the detailing to a minimum make

sure the color is something that can go

with a lot of outfits and that's going

to help you massively jeans is the

second thing I've done a video on jeans

before and jeans is something that we

all take for granted we think that a

pair of jeans is a very casual item we

can let you just throw on a pair of

jeans still comfortable and look good it

isn't as easy as that by choosing a good

pair of jeans is going to have a much

bigger impact on how good this outfit

looks if you're wearing baggy jeans that

are light denim and you're wearing it

with a pair of brown brogues it's not

going to look stylish it's as simple as

that so when you choose the pair of

jeans that you're unaware with this

outfit make sure that you're focusing on

them being extremely slim fitting well

fitted make sure that they're the right

length they're not bunching up at the

shoe they're not going under the shoe as

a lot of men do so make sure they're

well fitted but at the same time make

sure they're dark denim dark denim jeans

are going to go a lot better with dress

shoes it's a much more formal pair of

jeans for focusing on that again will

really help you pull off this look so

what shoes should you go for well the

brogue is the obvious choice it really

personally I would opt for a tan brogue

I don't for a dark brown brogue because

this is going to make it easier and more

versatile if the brokes not for you then

you can go for the monk straps shoot

personally I prefer a double monk strap

if you don't know what that is I'm going

to put some videos and images up on the

screen now just so you know what I'm

talking about you cannot sort a single

monk strap as well but personally like I

say I'm more of a fan of a double monk

strap I've got these tan or these brown

double monk strap shoes and I'll always

wear them with some dark denim and

sometimes I'll wear them with black

denim as well another alternative is the

Derby shoe or the Oxford shoe now the

Oxford is a little bit more formal so

you really have to be careful with that

but the Oxford shoe still can look good

with a pair of denim jeans it really

does come down to the rest of the outfit

though I wouldn't wear a pair of oxford
